Saturday will be a great day to buy a vehicle from Hendrick Durham Auto Mall. Not only will it be the last day of the month (great deals always are available on a month's final day and final hours), but heavy rain that is forecast for that afternoon could put a damper on outdoor activities.

According to WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel, a cold front moving across the state will bring the chance of severe thunderstorms by the late afternoon.

Saturday morning reportedly will continue the hot, humid weather from Friday, when temperatures reached the mid 80s. Sunshine, combined with increasing moisture and winds, could turn into storms with strong winds and hail.

The high Saturday will be about 90 degrees.

The greatest threat to get wet, according to Fishel, is between 3 and 9 p.m.
