Good News For June: Zero Percent Financing

At Hendrick Durham Auto Mall, we know that people may not want to come out on a 100-degree day just to spend money.

But what if you could come out and save money?

That is exactly what will happen when you come down to our downtown dealership this month. Our managers, in conjunction with General Motors, have announced strong incentives to not only buy, but also buy vehicles that get exceptional gas mileage.

Not only can you save on the cost of the vehicle and the financing, if you choose, you also can reduce the money you spend on gas.

Hendrick Durham Auto Mall is offering 0 percent financing for 60 months -- that's right, 0 percent financing for 60 months -- on four products that can get more than 30 miles per gallon of gas. Furthermore, the 2008 HHR, 2008 Cobalt, 2008 Impala and 2008 Equinox can be yours for as low as $199 per month.

In addition to the special financing, we also are offering aggressive rebates of up to $5,000 on select vehicles. There's no better time to buy.

As we all watch and listen to the reports of seemingly endless scorching temperatures, a large wildfire that is threatening homes and forcing evacuations in three N.C. counties and ever-rising gas prices, we all could use some good news. Well, consider this your good news:

Say it all together now: "Zero percent financing for 60 months on HHRs, Cobalts, Impalas and Equinoxes." That's good news, indeed.

We also have a comfortable, air-conditioned showroom and a variety of refreshments -- anything to help your visit here be as pleasnt and worthwhile as possible.

Come on down to 409 S. Roxboro Street, just down from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and American Tobacco complex, and see for yourself.

Forty Years Years Ago Today: Who Shot RFK?

As Sen. Ted Kennedy of Masschusetts recuperates today at Duke University Medical Center here in Durham following surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor, he can remember back to this day 40 years ago -- one of the most famous days in U.S. history.

Kennedy's brother, Robert, was fatally shot as he prepared to make a speech after winning the California Democratic primary on June 5, 1968. He died the next day.

Interestingly enough, tne man found guilty of RFK's assassination, pakistanian Sirhan Sirhan, said he has no recollection of the event. Even today, 40 years later, he maintains his innocence and ignorance about his alleged actions.

Today, Sirhan is America's last surviving political assassin, locked away in Corcoran prison. Since 9-11, he has been cast as the first Arab terrorist. Some leading psychiatrists believe he was a "Manchurian Candidate," hypnotically programmed to kill RFK.

For 40 years, there has been debate about what really happened that day at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, about who really killed RFK and whether or not Sirhan acted alone. We may never know. But undoubtedly, that vigorous dicussion will be renewed today as America recognizes the 40th anniversary of that shooting.
